Forsyth County offers a wide range of economic development services and incentives!

Whether an existing business or a company desiring to relocate the finest county in the #1 state for business, we can help your business build and expand through a variety of economic development services.

Revenue Bonds and Incentives

The Development Authority of Forsyth County may issue Revenue Bonds for qualifying economic development projects throughout Forsyth County, with the goal of bringing additional investment and jobs to the county.  These bonds can aid developers and companies with an additional source of capital that may include significant tax advantages to reduce the overall cost of financing land, new facilities, expansions, etc.  501(c)(3) and other qualified projects under federal law may result in the interest on such bonds being exempt from income taxation.

Applicants meeting certain criteria may qualify for ad valorem tax abatements over a 10-year period through Development Authority bonds; for approved projects, 100% of the ad valorem tax would be abated the first year, decremented by 10% for each succeeding year until following the tenth year when the project would become fully taxable.  Those companies interested in applying for tax abatements should contact the Development Authority with details of the proposed project.

Incentives:

Depending on the amount of investment and additional jobs involved, additional incentives may be available to qualifying projects through the Development Authority of Forsyth County or its Forward Forsyth partners.  These could include:

- Reduced/Forgiven Impact Fees

- Expedited Plan Review

- Upgrades to Infrastructure

- Partial or Full Tax Abatements
